The book is very well researched and it demonstrates how Truman developed his intense distrust of General officers who command from the rear and do not get into the trenches or firing positions and see how miserable the troops can be. This story is about one such soldier and a young Jewish girl in a small town in Alabama. Not for the faint of heart, Dublin’s work is a realistic portrayal of a dark time for Jews in European society and the tale of a strong and courageous teen. You have to read them both to get the whole story so you may want to order them both at the same time because once you start, you can't put them down. Tucker takes Wren to his family's home in Utah where his twin sister was murdered and is haunted all over again by memories of her death. While numerous mathematical careers are mentioned, tax preparation is not. It looked like a fun book and had excellent reviews. Jim is the story's most noble of character. Joan Groves has written an endearing story about the importance of knowing exactly where we belong. To me, this novel descends into soap opera territory, and I found it neither funny nor engrossing, and the ending left me disappointed. Charli's narration of this book is so witty and addicting.
