. The formation of the brain and the instructions forwarded to construct other parts of the body was abosolutly mind blowing. My only regret is that short space was given to Birdie's managing years. Just challenging enough to build confidence for the step from level 4 books, but full of kid humor. Sparks flew the minute they saw each other. Don't miss this book if you can help it. Stripped to their basic belongings and living in crowded filth and always hungry, waiting for over two weeks for trains to bring them to Germany for work camps as they have been told, the teens come to appreciate each other and overcome class and religious differences between themselves. I dare say most people have experienced a portion of the emotions revealed here yet most aren't brave enough to "put it out there" so boldly. This was a charming story, and very well done. The second half (literally over half) of the book is just example resumes in random order. This is a charming story with a sweet, suprising rhythm.
